Titanium catalyst is a TiO2-based sulfur recovery catalyst that is resistant to sulfation. Compared with the Al2O3-based catalyst currently being promoted in industry, this catalyst has the following characteristics.
(1) It has higher catalytic activity for the hydrolysis reaction of organic sulfides and the Claus reaction of H2S and SO2, almost reaching thermodynamic equilibrium.
It is not sensitive to "leaking O2" poisoning. The hydrolysis reaction has a tolerance to "leaking O2" poisoning of 2000ppm, while the Claus reaction is as high as 10000ppm. Once the influence of high concentration O2 is eliminated, the activity is almost completely restored.
To achieve the same conversion level, a shorter contact time of about 3 seconds is allowed, which is equivalent to a space velocity of 1000h-1 to 1200h-1, so the reactor volume can be reduced.
Titanium catalyst can be used in the whole bed of any primary reactor of sulfur recovery unit or used in layered loading with other catalysts of different functions or types. When used in layered loading, LS-901 catalyst can be loaded in the lower part of the first reactor bed with higher temperature, accounting for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the total volume of the bed, so as to facilitate the hydrolysis reaction of organic sulfides.
