Why Aluminum Silica Gel Used as Melamine Catalyst
The main advantage of aluminum silica gel is that its chemical properties are relatively stable. It is an acid oxide and does not react with ordinary acids. It does not react with halogens, hydrogen halides, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and perchloric acid (except hot concentrated phosphoric acid) other than fluorocarbon and hydrogen fluoride. The catalyst will be poisoned if it reacts with the catalyst.
